A Wee Little Wave

Today I had my follow-up sonogram to check on the status of my bleed. It was kind of a "no news is good news" situation. The bleed wasn't gone but it wasn't bigger either and doesn't appear to be bothering Little Blum in the least. S/he has grown just the right amount since the last visit and has a speedy 186 bpm heartbeat. S/he was awake and busy this time. I saw some wiggling at one point but when the sonogram technician checked back LB was just gently waving his/her little arms.

LB- Hi world!
Me- Hi LB!

Note how LB now has wee little feet (top picture) and though  the head is still big, it is definitely less alien-like.

So, even though I'm disappointed to still be on rest for the time being, I can't be that disappointed knowing LB appears to be in tip top condition. Two arms, two legs (now with feet!), big noggin, good placenta, nice umbilical cord, and a nice, strong heartbeat. Can't really ask for more than that. The positives far outweigh the negative.

In other news on the pregnancy front, I'm feeling better though still can't stand certain food items. I've definitely had more energy but I don't know if that's to do with the nearing of the second trimester or because I finally kicked an infection I was dealing with. I've gotten myself a good pregnancy workout that I tried out this weekend and enjoyed, so that's good since running might be off the table for awhile. I'm not "showing" in the least and my pants all still fit, to my great delight. All in all I'm pretty normal except for occasional extreme emotional reactions that Joe always takes pleasure in recording for posterity or giggles, I'm not sure which. We're really looking forward to telling our friends up here the big news! It's been hard keeping it a secret from people we see all the time!
