To Crawl or Not to Crawl

Firstly, I realize I skipped the 6 month post. I wrote it, I just kept forgetting to put the pictures on my computer to put in the post and now Z is almost 7 months so nevermind, I'll do a joint post.

Right now Z is having a very busy time. He just had his first cold and has remnant coughs. He appears to have more teeth trying to come through but they just. won't. cut. He's stares at things so seriously like he is trying to learn ALL THE THINGS. He's started sleeping on his side which makes him seem too grown up to me.

But, the thing that is most intriguing are his feelings about crawling. He mastered rolling from front to back and back to front long, long ago and ever since has been very content being on his belly. In fact, for a while he started doing multiple rolls and I thought he would continue that form of locomotion. No, pumpkin, no. About a week or two ago he suddenly decided tummy time was not for him. You would put the child down on his stomach and he would promptly roll over. I started to believe he was just never going to try to crawl. Then, two nights ago, he suddenly decides to roll himself onto his tummy in his crib and squirm around in there. So now we are at a mysterious place where he wants to get on his tummy but once he's there he realizes he can go no where and is filled with baby rage, which coincides nicely with his brand new sound- ear-splitting shriek! Yay!

Poor little guy. It's hard to learn all the things.
