One Year Old!

Well. It happened. Z turned 1. (smile/tear)

His party was a lot of fun and turned out very cute. I went with a woodland animals theme like his nursery and everything looked great. My friend Crystal's mom very generously made the most adorable cookies for the party and my parents helped put together the owl goody bags to hold them (as well as helping prep the food). We were very touched by the friends who took the time to come and celebrate with us and had a good time.

The Good!
Z loves being mobile. He crawls all over the house, usually throwing a toy in front of him or pushing a ball. He babbles all the time and clearly has a lot to say. I see him understand when we talk to him more and more each day. He does well with his sippy cup at meals but still loves his bottle very much. He loves to be tickled and for us to crawl around the house after him or in front of him or really just be on the floor with him. His favorite toy is his bead maze. He is completely obsessed with it and will play with it for long stretches of time. I'm hoping it will be my friend on long car rides. He eats like a champ and is rarely picky. He pulls up on everything he can get his hands on and started showing interest in learning to walk on his birthday. He loves to go outside and generally sleeps well. He now has 9 teeth, including 1 molar.






The Bad!

The molars. Yikes. That made for a cranky baby. There have also been many spring colds, which is gross for us due to the runny nose of death that accompanies them. Shockingly, our son doesn't like to have the snot wiped off of his face. I know, right? How weird.

The Awesome!

Always curious

Z is a real boy now. I feel like we're really getting to know our son now. His likes and dislikes and feelings. It's pretty amazing. I can't believe it's already been a year! It seems like the longest time and the blink of an eye. Z went from a little, squishy bundle to a vivacious, cheerful explorer. We love him so much and are excited for the next year, terrible twos and all.
