RECAP! September and October

So... really busy. Didn't blog. Preoccupied. Sorry.

September...

The Highlights:

- Joe and I started our jobs at UWRF. He was great, I survived.
- I ran a 5k and did way better than I thought I was going to, so I was really pleased.
- We witnessed the Running of the Llamas. Yes, people ran down Main St. with their llamas and alpacas. It was amazing.
- Z and I started attending "Open Gym" which is really fun. Z LOVES IT! He runs around like crazy and I'm trying to make some friends.
- My mom and dad visited and hit a glorious weather weekend. Very pleasant for all involved.

October...

The Highlights:

- Z got Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease. It was horrible. HORRIBLE!! I've never been so tired.
- We saw the Blum/Boyle clans in Kenosha! It was great to see everyone, even though it was a short visit. We'll always have the memory of the car crashing into our hotel room the first night.

An Overview of the Car Crashing into Our Hotel:

1. Waking up to the fire alarm is not fun.

Joe was out with his brothers. I wake up extremely disoriented. The good news: my first instinct was to wrap my son in a blanket and exit the room with him. I also put on my glasses. The bad news: I did not put on my coat, his coat, shoes, get my phone, my room key. Anything. I forgot that the door would slam behind me and lock me out when I went out in the hallway to see what was going on. Sigh. I would have been the gazelle picked off at the watering hole, seriously. My sister-in-law, Leigh, and my mother-in-law would be the gazelle that escape to live a happy life. The came out well-layered and with phones. My father-in-law swam in the pool through the whole thing. Not sure how he would fit into my watering hole analogy.

2. Z thinks running around the dining room in the middle of the night while his uncles and father chase him is SUPER FUN!

3. Kudos to our hotel staff. They did a good job.

4. Should you ever fall asleep at the wheel, run off the road, wake up and panic, don't just make a hard turn because you're freaking out. You might run into a hotel room instead of driving harmlessly through the field you veered into and might not get as lucky as this driver, who miraculously did not kill or injure the room's inhabitants. Instead, hit the brakes. Just a thought.

- We took Z to trunk or treat and it was so cute! Can't wait to take him next year!

PS- little kids in costumes are adorable!
