Joe and I have been pretty overwhelmed, in a good way, by the love and excitement people lavished upon us with the facebook announcement of our impending parenthood. All of our friends and family have been so enthusiastic and supportive, it has truly bolstered our feeling that we can do this; our small human will be okay and well-loved.
We've all heard the expression, "it takes a village to raise a child" or some variant thereof, and, while watching all the facebook comments and "likes" pour in, I've been thinking, "Wow. This is our village." Granted, a lot of friends and family are far away and won't be able to spend a lot of immediate time with Little Blum, but just knowing they are there, supporting and thinking of us, willing to offer advice and care, is very heart-warming.
All this to say, thank you friends and family. Thanks for your love and faith in us as parents. I'm sure we'll need your help so will you be our village?
