Everyone, I'd like you to meet the Knob on the right side of my belly. We've been together for awhile now but I was pretty resistant to our relationship at first so I didn't want to say anything to the general public. Apparently, what we have is very permanent so I guess it's safe for me to announce via this blog. There is a knob and it's going nowhere. What is this knob? Hard to say. Could be a knee or an elbow, possibly a shoulder. Could be multiple things since it disappears (when I apply pressure) then reappears (when it thinks I won't notice) on a regular basis. Sneaky baby.
Yep, LB continues to constantly favor my right side. Not sure what it is about it that is so appealing but this little scooter just snuggles up over there with and pushes with baby body parts constantly. I did have one day when LB decided to turn his/her back to me, which was even weirder since all I had was a big lump of baby back and butt bulging out my right side. LB discovered during that day that when you turn your back to mama, she prods you all day long so it's best to flip back over and resume sticking the Knob out of her side. I keep trying to figure out how exactly LB is situated in there but I just have no idea. I think I'm forgetting 1) how big this kid has gotten (relatively speaking) and 2) how curled up they are in there. We should be getting one last sonogram so maybe I'll be able to get an idea of what goes on in there!
turning his/her back to you is good, as that means their face is toward your spine and therefore in the right position to be delivered! not too much longer now - i hope the next few weeks are enjoyable for you.
ReplyDeletePS - childhood friend of the blums and just started following your blog. so happy for you two, being a mother is the greatest joy ever (so cliche, I know) and it gets better every day. i will remember the three of you in my prayers!
Hi! Thanks for the prayers, always appreciated :) We're super excited/nervous! Our little one still likes to switch positions a bit at this time but seems to be consistently head down so I'm thankful for that. We've had a lot of discussions about not being breech :)
